Train Your puppy dog To come to Heel

What is heeling?

Heeling is an where your dog stays close beside you, fixed attention on you only .

As your dog grows , heeling will become the safe way for you to walk your dog .

It is the easiest lesson to begin outside on leash and easiest to practice -and fun for your dog.

This will not be the heeling exercise as done in obedience class, but more of a lesson in

heeling in getting to know one another because you can begin off-lead anywhere that's
safe, indoors or out.

1 Start by getting the dogs attention as he's trotting along

2 Hold his attention by walking just quickly enough to make your dog want to keep up with you.

3 Be realistic in what you expect of a dog.

4 Add some right turns for variety and to be sure he is really paying attention and have some fun.

5 train your dog when young, this when you can have the most impact, this is the period of his life where he will be shaped into the adult dog .

6 The first basic of dog training is to get your dog to sit and come to heel
Teaching him those two easy commands , will enable your dog to to learn, teachability is basic to you and your dog

In fact, the "come" command is the most important command that you can ever give your dog the "come" instruction requires basic technique, but a great deal of repetition.
the technique is :

i the dog stays in the same place, say" stay "

ii walk slowly away

iii hold a toy in one hand and a treat in the other

iv then, hold out the toy and call him to you in an excited manner, when he comes

vi give him the treat make a fuss of him its got to be fun for both of you.

Getting him to "sit" . Again, it only requires a very basic dog training routine, and practise

the technique is :

1 place your hand on the end of his back just above his tail the"sitloci"

2 say "sit"

3 push gently down on his "sitloci"

4 when he sits down, give him a treat, make a fuss of him its got

to be fun for both of you.

Basic dog training is easy and extremely effective, also rewarding when these two commands have been understood, you can go on to add dog training

So how do you ensure that dog training its training classes – both of you will learn and your dog will learn to socialize not only with other humans but also with other dogs.
